A pair of original artworks sold together: a trial proof print of Starfish on cotton and a matching trial proof print Starfish Unravelled on cotton. Each is dated 2019 and labelled TP on reverse.

(The main edition print is a pink starfish on a white background. These trial proofs were the only copies made to instead feature a pink starfish on a light blue background.)

Created with neural networks trained only on photos of real starfish. “Starfish” is generally recognized as a “starfish” by computer vision algorithms trained on ImageNet, while “Starfish Unravelled” has been subtly changed and is no longer recognized.
